Announcements

There was discussion on how and
where to place the memorial plaque at the shed, there are several
things being torn up and there was mention of changing the
location. Everyone agreed the shed was the place, Tony will have a
friend build a steel tower for concrete and place the plaque just
inside the fence at the shed.
July 12th
at Lake Cypress, FAA Airboat Appreciation our club has volunteered
to do the cooking. We need volunteers to assist the cooks. Come on
out and show your support for your club and the FAA.
Wildwood
Airboat show is September 6th, same location as last
year. We are once again, in charge of Parking. We need volunteers
to assist with that task and volunteers to sell our product out of
the trailer. If you can come out, even if only an hour or two, come
out and support your club.
A letter was
read from Bishop Wright Jr., President of the FAA, concerning the
County Commissioners and the rights that are being taken away from
the Airboaters, a copy of this will be available on our web site.
Funds are desperately needed to help the attorneys fight the
ordinances that have just been passed.

On June 21, 2008, the Osceola Airboat
Association got together at the Shed on Dead River to place a
memorial plaque to the men who started O.A.A.. The plaque read:
This memorial is proudly dedicated in fondest
memory of Carlton Johns and Charlie Mack Founding members of O.A.A.
Both passed away together on September 16, 2005 in a small Airplane
accident.

Cody Mack attended to represent his family.
The club members mowed, trimmed and cleaned up the trash around the
pavilion and fenced in area. The plaque was prepared on a steel
post by Phil Jones, a member of the club and placed in the ground
with concrete, to insure it did not come down. The club then had a
cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by JR Wilson. We
enjoyed good friends and were drenched by a downpour, all had a good
time.
